Candex is a product distributed by Pure Essence. It is a high end digestive enzyme that focus mainly on helping the body digest fibers and carbohydrates. The main enzyme components in Candex include: Cellulase (74,000 CU), Hemicellulase (30,000 HCU), Amylase (4,000 DU), Invertase (1,000 SU), Malt Diastase (200 DP), and Glucoamylase (200 AGU). This is an entirely vegetarian product and is free of all common allergens.

** The Malt Diastase in this product may be difficult for people who are gluten intolerant to handle.

The idea behind Candex is that the enzymes digests the fibrous outer shell of candida organisms. Candida that has been affected by the Candex will weaken and possibly die. For some people, Candex may be all that they really need to help kill their candida infection. Usually these folks will have a recent infection. More entrenched infections will also be affected by Candex, but you may need another antifungal (candida killer) in order to get rid of the candida entirely.

One of the claims that Pure Essence makes in regards to Candex is that there are no die-off reactions. To be honest, I have found that some people do notice cleansing affects with the Candex, but they do not seem to be as strong as with other candida killers. One of the reasons that die-off can be so bad (especially with herbal supplements) is that the candida realizes it is under attack; if the candida feels threatened, it will start to put more toxins into the system which will can the host pretty miserable. Candex is almost like a stealth candida killer. The candida do not realize that the Candex is affecting it and as the candida's cell wall is damaged by Candex, the candida will die.

As with any candida cleanse, it is always a good idea to take a soluble fiber containing pysillium hull or apple pectin, to help grab the extra toxins and dead candida and pull them out of the system.

Sometimes people will experience some abdominal cramping, nausea or a burning sensation in the stomach while taking Candex. In our experience, this is very rare occurence.
